Iron Man Extremis

First off, I want to say that the movie Iron Man Extremis was pretty bad ass. I have always loved Tony Stark's, I don't give a shit attitude. Especially when he meets the young boy and tells him, "yeah sometimes fathers leave their kids, that is still no reason to be a pussy about it." haha I thought that was the best line of the movie. As far as the movie's adaptation of the comic, I felt as though it was an Intermediate adaptation. The movie kept most of the key elements, but it made some changes, and I thought the changes in the movie were well done. The movie added a lot to the story, adding characters, and changing up the effects of the Extremis drug as well. I thought the movie was an Analogy of the comic, it maintains the basic plot, and time period, but the settings changed tremendously. The way they added the Mandarin, and the president, as well as the vice president, I feel added more to the story, and made it more interesting.

Blade Runner Commentary

Hello all! Well first off I would like to say that I am sorry I did not get to watch Blade Runner in class with you all last week. I am sure the movie would have been way better if I could have experienced with you in class. But I did watch it at home and I was somewhat surprised in how much they removed from the book. I felt as if the movie was an intermediate adaptation of the book. I felt as if Ridley Scott removed a couple of characters in the movie, such as Iran Deckard. Not only did the movie leave out some characters, but I felt they left out some key elements of the book. Which is why I would have to say that this adaptation was an analogy. Things such as the mood clock, the television show that would always play non stop (sorry for forgetting the name), were not in the movie at all. And one of the main things in the book that was never mentioned even once in the movie, was any electronic sheep, in fact no sheep were mentioned at all. The movie kept the owl, but as far as animals go in the movie, they were none compared to the book. The setting was different in the movie as well. Instead of primarily taking place in San Francisco, the movie took place in Los Angeles.  Ridley Scott tried to keep the movie very similar to the book, but removed too many elements that I believe took away from the story.
